ANGEL FIRE – Angel Fire Resort today announced its opening on December 10 for the 2021-2022 ski season.

Known as one of the “Best Family Ski Resorts in North America,” Angel Fire Resort is investing in improved mountain equipment for snowmaking and expanding winter activities and events for travelers who don’t plan to ski. Angel Fire Resort’s winter season will be from December 10 to March 20, 2022.

“After a big turnout last year from skiers and those looking for a winter getaway, we are stepping up our plans for this winter season,” said Greg Ralph, Director of Marketing for Angel Fire Resort. “While we love being known as the Southwest’s most family-friendly ski destination, we are seeing an increase in the number of families coming to Angel Fire just to enjoy the weather in the snow. In addition to skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and night skiing, we also create fun and interactive entertainment opportunities for families and couples who come to Angel Fire Resort.

EXTENDED WINTER ACTIVITIES FOR ALL:

The resort will host a rotating series of “snow play activities” at the base, such as snowman-making contests, ice sculpting demonstrations, relay games and snowball battles for children. children. There is also a new bar at the base called Zia which will serve smores and hot chocolate.

Other activities other than skiing include:

  • A hill of 4-way tubes.
  • An old-fashioned toboggan hill.
  • Evening snowshoe hikes in season with guided stargazing tours.
  • An increase in after-hours activities for children and couples.

The resort will offer seasonal mixology classes, whiskey tastings, cooking demonstrations for couples, as well as themed craft activities and game nights for kids.

Several live musical entertainment shows are also scheduled throughout the resort venues.

The resort will also work with local outfitters to offer horse-drawn sleigh rides, expanded cross-country trails and circuits, and snowmobile tours in the Enchanted Circle.

DEDICATED MOUNTAIN PROGRAMS / ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILIES:

Angel Fire Resort continues to expand its family-friendly offerings, including family-friendly upgrades to its full-service children’s ski school.

Several programs are in place to help parents make the most of their time on the slopes while their children are actively engaged, learning to ski and board, make new friends and have fun:

  • Private Ski Lessons – For toddlers who are just learning to ski and snowboard, the resort offers private lessons for ages 2 and up.
  • Lil ‘Jalapeno Program – This is a paced, day-long ski program suitable for 3 year olds.
  • Lil ‘Poppers Snowboard Program – This is a full day snowboard program for ages 4-5 to complement the Lil’ Chile ski program. Classes will incorporate Burton Riglet boards.
  • Discounted Lift Tickets for Grade 5 Students – Offers all Grade 5 students a deeply discounted season pass or $ 10 daily lift ticket with their report card and completed form.
  • Seasonal subscriptions at reduced prices for children 6 and under and seniors 75 and over. Those aged 75 and over and children 6 and under can purchase a deeply discounted season pass or ski for as little as $ 10 per day.

DISCOUNTS FOR TEACHERS:

The Angel Fire Teacher Pass is back by popular demand and will offer all K-12 teachers one of the best ski pass discounts for the entire season in the country. The pass is $ 249 if purchased before November 30. The Teacher Pass is designed to thank educators for the work they do with students and to make skiing easier and more valuable for teachers.

THE UNIQUE NIGHT SKIING IN NEW MEXICO:

Angel Fire Resort remains the only resort in the state to offer its popular night skiing and snowboarding. The land includes 50 acres of groomed trails on the front side of the mountain, as well as the Night Rider Snow Park. Extra nights and extended hours have been added to night skiing.

ADVANCED WEBCAMS – TWO NEW CAMERAS HAVE BEEN ADDED:

Watch the snow fall in real time and see the most recent views of the ski mountain and surrounding peaks in 4K, are available for all meteorologists, guests and anyone just looking to see if they need to call the sick for catch some tracks on the mountain.

Two new webcams have been added. The first is at the top of the Chile Express chairlift, where people can check conditions and watch people jump from the chairlift!
