The United States Ski Team will begin the competitive season without one of its emerging World Cup athletes. Officially, the United States Ski Team said: “While training at Portillo, Alix injured her ankle. She’s in good spirits and we’ll work with her to get her back on the snow. This is the extent of their release; the team does its best to respect the privacy of athletes, and medical issues are among the most private.

On the other hand, it’s no secret that the faster you go, when things go wrong, the more likely you are to injure yourself. We were unable to confirm this situation, but SRM has confirmed that Wilkinson will miss part of the 2022-23 competitive season.

Last season, Wilkinson scored his first World Cup points in January at Cortina d’Ampezzo. A week later, she followed that performance with another breakthrough finish in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Without a doubt, Wilkinson was beginning to find his calling on the FIS World Cup and establish himself on the world stage. The woman, however, is talented, strong and determined. Expect to see her return in good condition and then quickly find her rhythm once back on the snow.

Be sure to follow injured athletes so they know they are not forgotten and that the community is supporting them through their recovery.
