For the editor:
The Bethel Outing Club ski sale is fast approaching. It will take place on Friday, October 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gould Academy Field House in Bethel. There will be a range of downhill, snowboarding and cross-country skiing equipment to choose from.
Northern New England ski shops will be there selling skis, snowboards, boots, poles, helmets and other ski accessories. You can also find lots of used gear in the section where local skiers/boarders sell gear in good condition.
Local skiers and snowboarders – this is where we need your help. Could you walk into your garages, attics, and basements and pull out equipment that is still in good shape (not obsolete), but that you or your children no longer use? Dust it off and try selling it at the BOC Ski Sale. Having equipment that is affordable and in good condition is an important part of making skiing accessible to more people in the community.
Local children can get free season passes to Sunday River and Mount Abram, thanks to the efforts of the River Fund and the Friends of Mt. Abram, we would love to help local children find equipment. Please consider setting a reasonable price for your used equipment. You can also donate your equipment that is not for sale at the BOC and we will try to get it into the hands of local children who participate in these programs.
Starting Saturday, October 1, if you want to sell used gear, you can pick up instructions, inventory sheets, and tags at the Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce or True North Adventureware during business hours. usual opening. The first four labels are free, then 25 cents each after the fourth. You can also buy tags on sale day, from 3-6 p.m., but tags cost $1 each on those days.
To learn more about selling used gear, please visit bethelouting.org/Ski-Sale. You can also sign up to volunteer at this event by going to the same link. Volunteers get the first dibs on ski sale items just before the sale opens.
We hope to see you at the BOC Ski Sale on October 28-29. It’s a great way to visit with friends, find new equipment and celebrate the start of a new ski season!
