Hyatt Centric to open in Sapporo – Business Traveler

Hyatt is set to introduce its Hyatt Centric lifestyle brand to Hokkaido, northern Japan in 2024.

The 216-room Hyatt Centric Sapporo will be the brand’s third property in Japan, following Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo and Hyatt Centric Kanazawa.

The hotel will occupy the upper floors of a 26-story complex currently under construction. The accommodations will offer panoramic views, while the property will also have two restaurants and multifunctional event spaces.

Hyatt Centric Sapporo will be adjacent to the historic Akarenga-chosha, the former government office of Hokkaido, and close to Odori Park. On the transport side, it will be a few minutes walk from Odori subway station via an underground walkway and a ten-minute walk from JR Sapporo station.

Sapporo is well known for its annual Sapporo Snow Festival, which features snow sculptures and ice installations each winter, as well as its ski resorts, national parks and mountains.

Sam Sakamura, Vice President of Hyatt – Japan and Micronesia, commented:

“We are honored to collaborate with NTT Urban Development Corporation on the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Hokkaido, one of Japan’s most fascinating destinations.

“As the third Hyatt Centric hotel in Japan, we continue to expand the presence of the Hyatt lifestyle brand to better meet the diverse needs of the market and travelers, and we look forward to welcoming guests to experience the culture dynamic Sapporo, the thriving food scene and spectacular scenery of Hokkaido. .”

Hyatt has entered into a management agreement with NTT Urban Development Corporation for the new property.
